Yesterday’s paper printed our letter (http://tinyurl.com/3e3jtb4) combined with a response from one of the uphill neighbors in the article from Saturday’s front page (http://tinyurl.com/3lketza). We are glad to see the neighbors are starting to understand that our solar array will be BELOW the height limit and we are building in a responsible way.
The real issue is that so much bad press and misinformation may cause others to be apprehensive about putting solar panels on their roofs. In addition, the broader economic, energy and environmental benefits of solar panels were never addressed.
Therefore, we are encouraging the city officials to look at this as an opportunity to comprehensively address not only views, but solar access that is blocked by overgrown trees and overdesigned chimneys on new buildings.
