How much space do we actually need? Is bigger really better?
We chose not to fully build out our lot or our second floor. Building a large second floor would destroy the character of the current home. Additional square footage on the second floor would not only mean more materials to paint, maintain, heat etc; but building out further would also shade more of our yard. Instead, we will be using California native plants to create a wildlife sanctuary back there.
