Breaking New Ground with All of You!
by Robert Fortunato on October 7th, 2010 No Comments

Our ground breaking ceremony on Tuesday could not have gone better.  Thank you all for your support which made that possible.  With well over 100 people attending or stopping by, it was great seeing old friends and meeting new.  Everyone from our Mayor, city council members, planning commissioners, key members of the environmental community, our partners, the press and friends and neighbors were on hand to celebrate with us.

We even received Certificates of Recognition from representatives for Assembly Member Ted Lieu and State Senator Jenny Oropeza – and good wishes from the office Congresswoman Jane Harman, a longtime supporter of the project.

Special thanks to Councilman Michael DiVirgilio who did an excellent job as MC of the event, Manhattan Bread and Bagel for all the tasty food, coffee (and donating the proceeds to the HB Schools) Waste Less Living for making sure everything we did was environmentally friendly and 3VSigns for an environmentally friendly banner that will be recycled at the end of its useful life.

We also appreciate the excellent press coverage we received:
