We were honored to have the award winning Environmental Charter High School request a tour of our Green Idea House. The students arrived as promised, 75 in the morning and 75 in the afternoon. When we asked the students why they were interested in touring the Green Idea House, without flinching they responded: “So we can build a community”. Love that.
They were also very interested in how we managed to achieve Net Zero Energy, Zero Carbon and do it for less cost and less environmental impact than standard construction.
At the end of the tours, Daphne Bolden, PhD, the Environmental Science teacher very kindly said that she was so happy to have a real, tangible, positive example that worked to show the students that this is all possible.
That made our day – and made it all worthwhile!
